Committee Reports
Soldier Creek Winery Food Tent comittee
Lion Steve Rethwisch reported:
we deposited $382 from this event, but that we were still in the hole on the event because we paid for food, etc for the event on Sept 24th out of these funds.
Soldier Creek Winery Food Tent comittee
Lion Brian Becker reported:
the event went over really well considering it was the opening night of many home high school football games in the area.
Fall Pancake Breakfast comittee
Lion Larry Juncker reported:
due to the low dollar income, we have been making on the pancake breakfasts recently, we should maybe try a new avenue of fundraising. It was suggested by Lion Larry Juncker that we try and do a large garage sale/Food Drive/Pet Supply drive at The Lions Den with items for sale donated by members. Like Lion Larry, he figured there were plenty of us who had things we were trying to get rid of, just lying around our houses and garages. The proceeds from the garage sale could go to The Lions Den improvement fund or general fund, the food drive items to the food pantry, and the pet drive items to Almost Home Humane Society. This discussion was tabled with Lion President Mike Mulroney asking Lion Larry to form a sub-committee and do more planning for use as a spring project.
Fall Pancake Breakfast comittee
Lion Larry Juncker reported:
during the discussion of low income recently of our pancake breakfasts and the lack of younger members in the club to help on projects. It was suggested by Lion Sean Minikis that we try and do an Oktoberfest/Membership Drive event at a local craft beer establishment, with the FDNL selling Brats, Chicken Sandwiches, and soft pretzels. Lion Sean thought that River Hops Brewing might work with us. The fall pancake breakfast was tabled for now. A new committee was then formed by Lion President Mike Mulroney for Oktoberfest with Lion Sean Minnikis, the chairperson. Lion Sean along with the committee (Lion Larry Juncker, Lion Cliff Weldon, Lion Brian Becker, and Lion President Mike Mulroney as an ex officio member) was going to talk with Ron Grebner at River Hops to see if this could be done and what he thought. A date would also be defined at that meeting.
OPEN MEETING DISCUSSION
Lion Cliff Weldon announced that there would be a wrap up meeting of the 100 Year Anniversary Committee after the next meeting.
Lion 2nd VP Larry Juncker passed around a sign up sheet for the new Blue T-Shirts with the following design for purchase:
Front w/ Logo Back
Small to Extra Large: $10.50 per shirt incuding sales tax
2XL+: $13.50 per shirt including sales tax
Please let Lion Larry know if you are interested in a new shirt. The next order will be placed ce we recieve 12 more orders.
If I missed any of the notes, I apologize, but I believe this is fairly accurate.

There are approximately 400 veterans on the waiting list. The September 17, 2016 itinerary shows what a normal day would entail. WHO ARE LIONS?
Lions are groups of service-minded men and women who are interested in improving their communities. To be a Lion is to be an active volunteer, a member of a respected international organization, a leader in the community and a friend to people in need.
The 1.4 million members that serve in over 45,000 clubs from over 200 countries make Lions Clubs International the worlds largest service club organization.
WHAT DO LIONS DO? Lions move to make a difference locally and globally. Lions are best known for their efforts to eradicate preventable blindness, but also participate in many other kinds of projects, including assisting those in need, sponsoring international exchanges for young people, providing supplies to victims of natural disatsters and bringing clean drinking water to remote villages.
Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller and communities get better.
WHY JOIN A LIONS CLUB?
As a Lion, you will have the opportunity to help others, meet new people and use your talents to make a real impact. You will acquire new skills, meet challenges head-on, cultivate lasting friendships, grow personally and have fun at the same time.
KNOW SOMEONE WHO CAN ANSWER YES TO THE FOLLOWING?
I'm ready to help.
Lions help where help is needed - in their own communities and around the world - with unmatched integrity and dedication.
I'm adventurous.
When it comes to meeting challenges, the Lions response is simple: WE SERVE.
I'm a leader.
Lions Clubs International develops leaders. Lions leaders serve at every level of the organization and oversee everything from local membership to the organization's international direction.
I'm making a difference.
Lions see despair turned to hope when they impact the lives of the less fortunate, the hungry and sick, the homeless and abandoned.
Volunteering makes you feel appreciated and needed. It provides an opportunity to give back what has been given to you.
If you answered “YES” to the above questions, then click on Membership_Application here, help them fill out the Application and bring them and the application with you to one of our meetings on Wednesday at noon, so they can start making a difference!
