A Message from our President

WELCOME to ALL reading our newsletter.

I would like to start out this weeks message with a request for all members.

Constitution and By-Laws Committee:
NOTE: Fort Dodge Noon Lions Policy Manual is an extension of the By-Laws and Constitution

Our Constitution and By-Laws Committee is hard at work looking at our current documents and policy manual to update them. If any one has any suggestions for improvements or concerns to the Constitution or our Policy Manual, please email any of the committee members below:

Thank You to these Lions for stepping up and agreeing to be on our Constitution & By-Laws Committee this year. Remember these documents are the driving force of our club, there is NO input that will not be looked at. We want to get these documents to be, clear and fair to everyone in the club. So if you have any input, you feel relevant about these documents, PLEASE LET THE COMMITTEE KNOW.

The Policy Manual will be voted on for adoption at our meeting next week, Dec 15th.

We had 16 Lions in attendance plus 2 guests from Heartland Hope & Homes.

Lion Doug Kinseth had lunch brought in from Chesterfield Bar and Grill. Thank You Lion Doug.

Annual Member Chrismas Party

Location: The Lions Den

Meeting Notes:

Our dinner of Chicken or Pork and 2 sides will be catered by Harley Ball Feedshack Catering.

Social Time: 5:30 - 6:00
Dinner: 6:00

The cost of the meal is $20.00 per person

Lions attending the dinner should contact Lion's Cliff or Nancy Weldon to be certain there is enough food.

Lion Couples attending are ask to bring the following....
1 Gift for Male, 1 Gift for Female
Single Lion members are ask to bring 1 gift matching their own gender

78th Annual Steak Fry

Time: 5:00 PM

Meeting Notes:
78th Annual Steak Fry fundraiser.
This year featuring 14oz New York Strip streaks, Hashbrowns, Baked Bans, Veggies and Bread.

A cash bar will be available for Pop, Beer and Wine.

Family fun for everyone.

We will be serving from 5 pm until 8 pm.

Tickets will be available at the door until all 700 are sold.

Our Healing Members

It was reported by Lion Jess Lewis that he is feeling much better and finally getting his legs back under him.

It was reported by Lion Brian Becker that Lion President Mike M and Cindy have self quarantined and are getting tested after being possibly exposed to COVID-19.

Committee Reports

KidSight Program comittee

Lion Steve Rehmann reported:

The Kidsight team has scanned 824 children's eyes already this year. The team was notified by the school, that they were going to on December 9th, to please postpone for a week due to large volume of stomach flu going on in the school this week. The team is currently at a 0.099% retake rate. Way to go team.

D I S C U S S I O N S

Lion Jim Gill ask that any Lions member who have old coats just lying around the house to Please bring them to the Lions Den to be given to the Coats for kids campaign. It was reported that this program gets numerous requests each year for adult coats as well.

Lion Randy Kay announced that the Tree of Hope at Kemna is complete for this year.

The District has had a hard time getting District Officers to volunteer. Our own Lions Steve Rehmann has volunteered to be the Zone Chair for our zone and Lion Jim Gill has placed his name in the hat for District Governor. Lion Jim's nomination will be voted on at our next meeting. Thank You to both of these fine Lions.

Lion 2nd VP Larry Juncker is still trying to get ZOOM to work at our meetings. A phone call is going to be made to MediaCom Corporate on Thursday to try and get a reduced priced Internet solution from them since we would only use it once a week. More informationto be forth coming. The cell phone hotspot is not working well enough for ZOOM to work.

Program Sponsors are needed still for Feb through Jun 2022

Lion President Mike suggested that due to the Holidays, our meetings on Dec 22 and Dec 29th should be cancelled. It was agreed by all present that that would be a good idea.
