Committee Reports
Steak Fry comittee
Lion Doug Kinseth reported:
he had spoken with Russ at Fareway and steaks this year are going to cost $6.99 each. He ask Russ if he could order us 600 with an option for us to get another hundred if necessary. He informed me that our steaks are cut thicker than his normal T-Bones so it would be hard to do this in a hurry as they have to physically cut each steak.
A discussion began about the cost of our dinner as to whether to raise the cost of the tickets to $20. Some felt we should keep the prices the same for this year and some felt we should go ahead and raise them. This was tabled and sent to the board to discuss next week at their meeting. |

Reminder to everyone that the Virtual District 9NW Convention this year will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
One of the things happening at that convention will be another district election. We anticipate electing FDNL Lion Jim Gill, who stepped up to be first vice district governor midway through the current club year, to become district governor effective July 1 for the 2022-23 Lions year.
Lion Jim has been preparing in earnest to take the reins and have a great year. We need to do all we can to help that happen.
The following information was sent to inform the Fort Dodge Noon Lions Club that they have 3 Delegate votes.
Each club has to select their delegate or delegates. They will have to be on Zoom and logged into the Zoom connection.
The Zoom link is
2022 District 9NW Convention
Meeting ID: 831 9451 0021
Passcode: 033122
Phone: 1 312 626 6799
The District has had a hard time getting District Officers to volunteer. Our own Lions Steve Rehmann has volunteered to be the Zone Chair for our zone and Lion Jim Gill has placed his name in the hat for District Governor.
Thank You to both of these fine Lions.

Lion President Mike reminded everyone that Elections for the 2022-2023 year are coming up in April.
Lion Tailtwister Steve hinted that everyone may want to wear or bring something green to eat to Next weeks meeting as it is the day before St Patricks day. Not really sure what he was hinting about...lol.
Everyone should have received an email this week with a link to "The Iowa Lion" - March 2022 Edition. If not I shall provide it here....

If I missed any of the notes, I apologize, but I believe this is fairly accurate.

WHO ARE LIONS?
Lions are groups of service-minded men and women who are interested in improving their communities. To be a Lion is to be an active volunteer, a member of a respected international organization, a leader in the community and a friend to people in need.
The 1.4 million members that serve in over 45,000 clubs from over 200 countries make Lions Clubs International the worlds largest service club organization.
WHAT DO LIONS DO? Lions move to make a difference locally and globally. Lions are best known for their efforts to eradicate preventable blindness, but also participate in many other kinds of projects, including assisting those in need, sponsoring international exchanges for young people, providing supplies to victims of natural disatsters and bringing clean drinking water to remote villages.
Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller and communities get better.
WHY JOIN A LIONS CLUB?
As a Lion, you will have the opportunity to help others, meet new people and use your talents to make a real impact. You will acquire new skills, meet challenges head-on, cultivate lasting friendships, grow personally and have fun at the same time.
KNOW SOMEONE WHO CAN ANSWER YES TO THE FOLLOWING?
I'm ready to help.
Lions help where help is needed - in their own communities and around the world - with unmatched integrity and dedication.
I'm adventurous.
When it comes to meeting challenges, the Lions response is simple: WE SERVE.
I'm a leader.
Lions Clubs International develops leaders. Lions leaders serve at every level of the organization and oversee everything from local membership to the organization's international direction.
I'm making a difference.
Lions see despair turned to hope when they impact the lives of the less fortunate, the hungry and sick, the homeless and abandoned.
Volunteering makes you feel appreciated and needed. It provides an opportunity to give back what has been given to you.
If you answered “YES” to the above questions, then click on Membership_Application here go to http://www.fdnoonlions.club/docs/Membership_Application_en.pdf
, help them fill out the Application and bring them and the application with you to one of our meetings on Wednesday at noon, so they can start making a difference!
